Effects of a home-based Feeding Enhancement in Dementia (FEED@home) intervention in advanced dementia

Programme(s) to which this project applies:

☑ MPhil/PhD ☒ MRes[Med] ☒ URIS

Feeding difficulties are nearly universal in older people with advanced dementia due to the cognitive, physiological and psychological effects of the disease. These difficulties contribute significantly to ill health and psychological distress for people with dementia and their carers, as well as high health care costs and acute care utilization. Designing interventions that can alleviate these difficulties is research priority in dementia care.

This present study aims to conduct a multicenter randomized controlled trial to investigate the effects of the Feeding EnhancEment in Dementia program (FEED@home) on reducing hospital readmissions, patients' feeding difficulties and improving quality of life.
