Objective and Significance:

  1. To study the effects of different dietary intake on vascular and cardiac function in subjects who are at risk of cardiovascular diseases and events
  2. To study the effects of exercise intensity and physical training on vascular and cardiac function in subjects who are at risk of cardiovascular diseases and events
  3. To study the use of novel biomarker markers, such as endothelial progenitor cells for the prediction of cardiovascular events in high risk subjects

Research Plan and Methodology:

Cross-sectional and prospective clinical studies in high risk Chinese subjects or in patients with cardiovascular diseases
