HKUMed is embarking on a major recruitment drive to support our expanding research portfolio and clinical and teaching activities. In return, we offer abundant opportunities, strong funding support, connections to national and global networks, and an exciting academic culture grounded in innovation, rigorous enquiry and a compassionate commitment to improving human health.
To support our thriving agenda, we aim to recruit 140 professoriate staff by 2027, when we will celebrate our 140th anniversary. The “140 for 140” recruitment campaign seeks outstanding scholars across multiple disciplines and at all ranks. Four well-funded programmes open abundant opportunities to the right candidates.
Academic recruits at all ranks are being supported by the HKU Global Professoriate Recruitment Campaign.
For this, HKUMed seeks candidates in six emerging fields with potential for scientific and scholarly breakthroughs:
All ranks may apply, with the possibility of direct tenure to Associate/Full Professor.

HKUMed is the hub for five transdisciplinary R&D clusters and seeks expertise to support and drive our goals forward. The clusters include:

HKUMed’s position as a world leader in research was demonstrated by our work on COVID-19, where our scholars provided some of the earliest key insights on the culprit virus and its spread, and were sought out by governments and organisations around the world for advice and guidance. We are also a leader in Hong Kong and the region on complex and groundbreaking clinical care.
