由 HKUMed Tam Wing Fan Innovation Start-up Grant 支持舉辦的第一屆「HKUMedXelerate 2025」是港大醫學院首設的創新科研的比賽，旨在鼓勵將科研成果轉化為醫療解決方案。比賽於12月初，邀請了最終入圍的十個項目團隊跟專業評審進行科研項目簡介。最終有五個科研項目獲勝，每個項目將獲高達150萬港元資助，以推動從概念階段邁向原型開發或市場化。

“To me, our congregation is an occasion when we remind each other the mission we set for ourselves when we enrolled for our course of study,” Professor CS Lau, Dean of Medicine, told graduates at the 215th Congregation as he also paid tribute to those affected by the fire in Tai Po. “Our core focus is on serving humanity, alleviating suffering, and making a profound, positive impact on individuals and the community.”

HKUMed alumnus and surgeon Dr Au Yiu-Kai returned to Sassoon Road to share his insights from 29 humanitarian operations in war and disaster zones. He reminded students of the need to maintain their humanity and to support one another at the most challenging times.
