Department of Medicine, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, HKU and five clinics under the Family Medicine and General Out-Patient Clinic of the Hong Kong East Cluster, Hospital Authority launch a two-year Atrial Fibrillation screening programme.

(Left) Dr Daniel Chu Wai-sing, Chief of Service & Consultant, Department of Family Medicine & Primary Healthcare, Hong Kong East Cluster, Hospital Authority, (Center) Dr David Siu Chung-wah, Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, and (Right) Dr Michael Chan Pak-hei, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, HKU introduce the smartphone-based ECG monitor and sensor which can be used for screening individuals with Atrial Fibrillation.

Dr David Siu Chung-wah, Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, HKU estimates that the Atrial Fibrillation screening programme can offer one-stop treatment for 60 thousand people who are at risk of Atrial Fibrillation.
