Research Postgraduate Courses (Full List) (2025/26)

IMPORTANT NOTES

All MPhil and 4-year PhD candidates are required to complete three Research Postgraduate courses of the Medical Faculty. For other requirements stipulated by the Graduate School, please visit the Graduate School website: https://gradsch.hku.hk/current_students/coursework/general_coursework_requirements.
Students who would like to take courses offered by other Faculties in lieu of the 3 required courses of the Medical Faculty are required to submit a formal application with endorsement from the Principal Supervisor to the Faculty Office in advance.
Students should contact the relevant course coordinators for the examination timetables.
Students who are interested in taking more Faculty/Departments courses than the minimum specified requirement will have to complete the Application Form attached and pay a special course fee of HK$200 per course.

For research postgraduate students in the School of Public Health, MMPH6002 Introduction to Biostatistics can be taken in lieu of Graduate School's Coursework Module 2: Introduction to Qualitive/Quantitive Research Methods but it will not be counted towards fulfilling the coursework requirement of 3 core courses of the Medical Faculty.
