This area of research focuses on evaluating health policy and healthcare services to improve population health. The research methods involves modelling the impact of public health policy interventions on disease burden using analysis of large-scale individual-level electronic health record data on non-communicable diseases. Current projects include evaluating public health policies (such as alcohol and tobacco), improving the design of health insurance plans, and assessing the economic costs of modifiable risk factors.
