Professor William Wong, Department Chairperson of HKU Family Medicine and Primary Care, was recently appointed as Danny D B Ho Professor in Family Medicine in recognition of his work in the field. He dismisses the view that family medicine is only about “cough and cold”. Instead, he says it is a specialty that requires doctors to embrace the unknown.

Anastasia teamed up with her nursing peer Claudia Leung, as well as Year 4 medical students Branson Lau and Xin-yau Tsang, to take part in the international Student-Sim Stars Competition, organised by the Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare and iRIS. The HKUMed team advanced to the top four in the finals, becoming the first Asian team to reach the final stage.
