HKU-EHP Data Collaboration Laboratory (HKU-EHPDCL)
Extended Platform for Experimentation, Research & Training (EXPERT)


Target users

Academic researchers who would like to conduct advanced in-depth research with specific data requirements for comprehensive analysis.
 

Prerequisites

Eligibility of the applicants for accessing the data services are as follows:

  • currently an academic researcher / academic staff / research or taught postgraduate student and
  • possess Bachelor's degree or above

EXPERT-Standard

  • Offering data products, including selections from up to 14 chronic diseases and 11 cancer types
  • Please refer to Data Products in EHPDCL Data Catalogue for details


EXPERT-Custom

  • Offering datasets customised according to research requirements
  • Structured, textual and image data are available. Please refer to EHPDCL Data Catalogue for details

Access to a range of hardware resources, commonly used freeware and open-source software tools will be provided. Please refer to EHPDCL Technical Platform for details.

Subject to the compliance with the requirements stipulated in the established agreement with EHP and confidentiality undertaking, researchers may request for release of their research outcomes such as aggregated results, charts, source code, and AI models.

EXPERT is a fee-based data service. A quotation, tailored to the specific research requirements, will be issued upon review of the submitted application by the EHPDCL Office.

Each applicant can choose to access the data services from the HKU-EHP Data Collaboration Laboratory (HKU-EHPDCL), a remote access site located at the HKU Medical Campus, or the EHP Data Collaboration Laboratory (EHPDCL) in Kowloon Bay.
