  • Spine Surgery
    • To provide students with an in-depth study on spinal disorders and spine surgery.
  • Joint Replacement Surgery
    • To present up-to-date knowledge, to describe basic science in joint replacement surgery, and to share practical tips in management of arthritic conditions.
    • To provide training and a platform to perform basic or clinical research for students to write up a dissertation or scientific papers.
    • To enhance the practice of the students and improve the standard of care.
  • Advanced Musculoskeletal Imaging
    • To provide training on advanced musculoskeletal imaging for spinal disorders.

    • define the mechanical principle of the spine and its changes in disorders.
    • give an account of the history of surgical treatment to the spinal disorders.
    • identify and describe, recognise and prevent the various complications during spinal surgery.
  • Joint Replacement Surgery
    • describe the applied anatomy and biomechanics of the hip and knee joints.
    • appraise the commonly used biomaterials used in joint replacement surgery, and choose the suitable biomaterial in different clinical situations.
    • define the basic principles of operative technique in joint replacement surgery.
    • describe various outcome and quality of life assessment tools, analyse their pros and cons and apply them in real patients
    • differentiate the pathogenesis and management of various arthritic disorders.
    • critically appraise the academic literatures and perform simple research in medically related field.
  • Advanced Musculoskeletal Imaging
    • give an account of the history of advanced imaging modalities
    • describe the fundamentals of dynamic videofluoroscopy, MRI, and diagnostic neuromuscular imaging
    • compare and contrast the imaging modalities for cervical and lumbar spinal disorders.
    • identify and describe the clinical applications and limitations of the above techniques.

    • define the principle of fracture fixation.
    • understand about the anatomy, physiology of bone and the fracture healing process.

    • understand the operative management of orthopaedic trauma, including pre-operative and post-operative management, general complications, etc.
