Funding and Fellowship
HKUMed Strategic Institutional Partnership Scheme (SIPS)


To strengthen research collaboration between LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and prestigious global institutions, HKUMed has launched the HKUMed Strategic Institutional Partnership Scheme to establish new and foster close collaboration in selected strategic research themes through the exchange of research postgraduate students and research staff, bi-directional short-term visits, joint research projects, and organization of joint physical symposia with Strategic Partnering Institutions.

The following schemes are available for application: 

  1. Grants for Joint Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programmes or Joint PhD Placement Programmes
  2. Exchange Fellowships for Postdoctoral Fellows and Research Assistant Professors
  3. Global Institutional Fellows (Postdoctoral Fellows and Research Assistant Professors)
  4. Grants for Bi-directional Short-Term Research Visits
  5. Grants for Joint Research Projects
  6. Grants for Joint Physical Symposia

Terms of Reference

Call for applications will be made once a year in general, and subject to funding availability.  Please refer to the Faculty's internal call for the application deadline and other information.
