Professor Gabriel Leung and Professor Joseph Wu — The research team led by Professor Gabriel Leung, Dean of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong; Helen and Francis Zimmern Professor in Population Health and Chair Professor of Public Health Medicine, HKUMed, tables two options in forward planning after Hong Kong’s fifth wave of Omicron BA.2, and suggests a controlled transition towards endemicity sooner rather than later is the safest strategy.
