The HKUMAA held the Inauguration Ceremony for the 5th Term of the 130 Mentorship Programme on 17 January 2026, with enthusiastic participation from over 130 mentors and mentees. Honoured guests included Professor Rosie Young Tse-tse (楊紫芝), Founding President of the HKUMAA; Dr Kathleen So Pik-han (蘇碧嫺), Programme Advisor; and Professors Gilberto Leung Ka-kit (梁嘉傑) and Gordon Wong Tin-chun (黃田鎮) from the Faculty.
Professor Young delivered a welcome speech, followed by insights from Programme Co-Chairs Dr Libby Lee Ha-yun (李夏茵) and Dr Kevin Lau Chung-hang (劉仲恒), who introduced the Programme's objectives, structure and activities. Previous mentees, Dr Alex Lam Tun-kin (林敦健) (also a current mentor) and Dr Ivan Lo Chun-hin (羅駿軒), shared their personal experiences and recommendations. The ceremony concluded with a 45-minute breakout session, with mentors and mentees engaging in smaller group discussions.
Established in 2017, the Programme facilitates knowledge exchange and fosters a professional network between young medical alumni and students with senior alumni. Currently in its fifth cohort, it has involved over 1,500 mentors and mentees since its inception.
