We were delighted to welcome over 70 secondary school students to our campus for the Student Taster Session 2026. The event aimed to provide S4–S6 students with a comprehensive understanding of the HKU School of Nursing programme. This session featured an overview of our curriculum, a mini lecture, a taste of clinical skills and student sharing.

Dr Joanna Ko Hiu-ki, Lecturer in the HKU School of Nursing, welcomed the participants with an engaging mini lecture, offering them a glimpse of what a university lecture is like. The students were then invited to explore our state-of-the-art simulation wards, where they observed demonstrations of various nursing skills and participated in hands-on activities to experience nursing techniques first-hand, allowing them to learn more about clinical nursing applications and practices.

The participants also attended an admission talk, which offered valuable insights into admission requirements, programme highlights and teaching features. Our Student Ambassadors shared their experiences and answered questions covering topics such as life enrichment learning, clinical practicum, career prospects and academic pursuits at HKU.

We are grateful for the active participation and support of the participants in this experiential activity. We look forward to welcoming them to join the HKU School of Nursing soon.
