In the course, experienced physicians and allied health leaders in drug, food, paediatric, skin and airway allergies shared their practical guidance on establishing and managing multidisciplinary clinics in a series of talks and hands-on practical sessions. The one-day intensive programme attracted 65 participants, who learned from experts, exchanged real-world insights and built a valuable network to support the development of new allergy services across Hong Kong.
Against the backdrop of rapidly growing allergy diseases and an ongoing shortage of specialist services, the course addressed an urgent local need by focusing on capacity building through multidisciplinary collaboration. Drawing on Hong Kong's successful experience in joint allergy clinics, the programme highlighted how coordinated care involving physicians, nurses and pharmacists can enhance service delivery and patient outcomes. Feedback from participants highlighted the course's relevance, practicality and timely focus on multidisciplinary service models.
