Professor Monique C. Haak served as the visiting scholar for the Professor Ma Chung Ho Kei Distinguished Lecture Series. She holds the prestigious position of Professor of Obstetrics at Leiden University, where she has advanced the field of foetal cardiology through clinical practice and research.
During her visit from 12 to 17 December 2025, Professor Haak delivered guest lectures on screening for cardiac defects in pregnancy, foetal development in congenital heart disease and management of labour, and the current status of foetal surgery. She also shared her extensive clinical and research insights with midwives, trainees, and the Prenatal Diagnostic and Maternal – Fetal Medicine teams at Queen Mary and Tsan Yuk Hospitals.
