The 7th HKU International Musculoskeletal Tumour Course, led by Course Directors Professor Pietro Ruggieri (University of Padova, Italy), Professor Wu Po-kuei and Dr Raymond Yau Ching-hin, provided a comprehensive review of orthopaedic oncology. This successful event attracted more than 100 attendees, including doctors, trainees and allied health professionals.
Day 1 focused on Basic Assessments and Management Principles, featuring sessions on imaging, biopsy and systemic treatments. The faculty included distinguished overseas speakers Professor Wang Jin (Sun Yat-sen University) and Professor Chen Chao-ming (Taiwan), who led discussions on osteosarcoma and surgical planning. Day 2 shifted to Malignant Tumours and Reconstructive Surgery, with Professor Xiao Hui Niu (Beijing Jishuitan Hospital) and Professor Hyun Guy Kang (National Cancer Center, Korea) sharing their expertise on prosthetic reconstruction and managing surgical failures.
Following the success of this edition, we are committed to hosting this international annual meeting in the future to continue fostering global academic exchange and clinical innovation in musculoskeletal tumour surgery.
