The workshop was specifically designed to equip clinicians with practical skills in digital planning and 3D modelling, targeting orthopaedic surgeons, radiologists and healthcare practitioners interested in point-of-care manufacturing. The intensive half-day programme was structured to guide participants through the entire workflow of medical 3D printing, from image acquisition to the final product. The session included an introduction to digital planning and the basics of imaging techniques, and a hands-on segmentation exercise, where participants learned how to convert DICOM data into 3D models. Case-sharing segments highlighted the practical application of digital visualisation and CT-MRI fusion in complex surgeries.
The workshop concluded with a focus on 3D printing basics and the creation of physical models and surgical guides, providing participants with the tools to implement these innovations in their clinical environments.
