The 15th Hong Kong International Nursing Forum (HKINF) cum International Forum on Proactive Health and Ageing

The two-day forum, themed ‘Cross-Disciplinary Innovation and Nursing Leadership: Advancing Health and Shaping a Future of Excellence’, was co-organised by 29 renowned universities and organisations and attracted 500 participants from around the globe. It commenced with an officiating address by Professor Lo Chung-mau, Secretary for Health of The Government of the Hong Kong SAR, followed by a welcome address by Professor Gong Peng, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Development) of the University of Hong Kong. Other officiating guests were from the Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University and Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group. Professor Chak-sing Lau, Vice-President & Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Health) and Dean of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong, presented the vote of thanks.      

The event featured keynote speakers who shared their expertise on trending topics related to the forum theme, along with two sub-forums on ‘Active and Healthy Ageing’, and a ‘Young Scholar Forum: Rising Stars in Nursing’. In celebration of the School’s milestone, School Director Professor Chia-Chin Lin and former School Heads, Professor Sophia Chan Siu-chee and Professor Agnes Tiwari, reflected on their journeys with the HKU School of Nursing in the Panel session. This was followed by a roundtable on ‘Future of Leadership in Nursing Education’ and a symposium on ‘Leadership in the Nursing Workforce’. 

Presenters of oral and poster presentations showcased their research findings. The forum concluded with a ceremony by the co-chairs, recognising best posters. Thank you to all the participants for making the event a success, fostering learning and networking opportunities for the participants.
