The World Arthritis Day 2025 Public Seminar, titled ‘Joints, Compassions & Care’, was successfully held at Magnus Hall, in the Hong Kong Palace Museum. This free event achieved a significant milestone, welcoming over 100 registrants eager to enhance their understanding of arthritis management. Designed for the general public, the seminar provided comprehensive insights into hip and knee arthritis, surgical treatments, and the latest innovations in robotic-assisted surgery and rehabilitation. The programme featured a distinguished faculty, including Professor Henry Fu Chun-him, Professor Lawrence Lau Chun-man, Dr Will Lau Wai-hong and Dr Amy Cheung Yim-ling, alongside various medical specialists.
The event was structured into two thematic sessions that addressed critical aspects of joint health. The morning session focused on the realities of hip arthritis, exploring surgical options and the benefits of robotic recovery. Following a brief intermission, the second session turned to knee arthritis prevention, smart community screening and replacement surgery. Both segments were enriched by first-hand recovery stories shared by patients, providing a human perspective to the clinical discussions. Each session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, ensuring that all participants left with a clear and practical understanding of managing their joint health.
