HKUMedXelerate 2025 was the inaugural flagship innovation competition at HKUMed, organised by the HKUMed Technology Transfer Unit and supported by the Tam Wing Fan Innovation Start-up Grant.
The programme aimed to help researchers turn medical ideas into commercially viable healthcare solutions. It ran from the application period (1 September to mid-October) to the announcement of the Top 10 finalists on 23 October, followed by an Xelerator Month of seminars, site visits and project refinements.
The initiative culminated on the HKUMed campus in early December with the Project Highlight Gallery, Final Pitching and Award Presentation Dinner, where five winning teams were awarded funding of up to HK$1.5 million each.
