27 June 2025

HKUMed's Enrichment Year (EY) Gala Day 2025 was a resounding success, bringing together EY students, faculty and global partners to celebrate the transformative experiences of the EY programme. Held on 27 June 2025, at the HKUMed Campus, this vibrant event marked the triumphant return of our MBBS students from their diverse EY journeys, signalling their readiness to resume clinical studies.

The event began with an inspiring address by Professor Chak-Sing Lau, Dean of Medicine, who welcomed the EY students back to HKUMed and praised them for their resilience and growth. Joined by faculty members, EY mentors and esteemed representatives from prestigious partners, such as Harvard Medical School, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Caritas Jockey Club, and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, the event radiated a shared sense of pride and purpose.

At the heart of the EY Gala Day were powerful stories shared by EY students Isaac Chow, Karin Wang, Steven Lau, Paco Yu and Yukun Wang. From groundbreaking research and

intercalated studies to impactful community projects, each student's unique EY journey highlighted the profound opportunities the programme offers. Their reflections—filled with moments of challenge, discovery and inspiration—moved the audience and underscored the EY's role in shaping future medical leaders at HKUMed.
