The 29th Medical Research Conference (MRC), under the theme ‘Clinical, Translational and Data Science’, was successfully concluded on 20 January 2024 at the HKU campus. This year, we are honoured to have three overseas plenary speakers, including Professor Ali Gharavi from Columbia University, Professor Hein Than from Duke-NUS Medical School, and Professor Duk-Woo Park from the University of Ulsan College of Medicine, who shared their insights on genomic research and the conduction of large multi-centre clinical trials.
In addition to these esteemed international experts, speakers from HKUMed, the City University of Hong Kong, and the Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre (ABIC) presented their research findings on various topics relating to Clinical, Translational, and Data Sciences. A networking lunch was also organized at the Alumni Chamber, with more than 30 speakers and colleagues gathered to share ideas and explore potential research collaborations.
The event attracted a diverse audience of approximately 180 local and international researchers, clinicians, and students who actively engaged throughout the day. This conference served as an invaluable platform for knowledge exchange, showcasing the latest advancements and best practices, and fostering collaborations in medical research.
