The Launch of Collaborative Project and the First Symposium on Patient Safety and MDT

The Opening Ceremony of the Cooperation Project between Queen Mary Hospital (QMH) and the HKU-SZH was held on 14 March 2024, along with the First Symposium on Patient Safety and Multidisciplinary Collaboration (MDT). This marked the first collaborative effort following the signing of a three-year development and cooperation agreement by the two sides on 8 December 2023.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Kenneth Cheung Man-chee (張文智), Hospital Chief Executive (HCE) of HKU-SZH, and Dr Theresa Li (李德麗), Hong Kong West Cluster (HKWC)'s Cluster Chief Executive (CCE) and QMH HCE, outlined the collaborative goals and prospects for the two sides. QMH's Dr Carmen Chan, Dr. James Hooi, Mr Andrew Li, HKU-SZH's Dr Cai Jifu, and Dr Zhang Qianshen gave presentations at the ‘Patient Safety and MDT’ Symposium.

During the meeting, both hospitals’ leaders explored further collaboration across hospital management, clinical talent exchange, academic and professional exchange, clinical innovation and technology, and quality and safety (Q&S), as well as clinical excellence and development.
