Hong Kong Training Programme in CBT for Oncology Nursing Health Professionals

HKU Jockey Club Institute of Cancer Care (HKU JCICC) is running a Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Training Programme for Hong Kong oncology nursing health professionals. The two-part programme is specially designed for oncology nurses with no prior training in CBT: Part 1 featured two masterclasses provided by Dr Maggie Watson and Dr Charlotte White between March and April 2024. Part 2 comprises supervised CBT sessions to help participants gain experience in CBT practice in oncology settings.  

The programme trains nurses to be able to work together with cancer survivors in identifying the signs of psychological problems, adopting effective management strategies, maintaining adaptive health practices, achieving an optimal level of functioning, and ultimately improving quality of life after treatment.
