Dr George Lim Tipoe (鄭顏兒), Assistant Dean (Enrichment Year) and Associate Professor, School of Biomedical Sciences; Dr Fraide A. Ganotice Jr., Assistant Professor of BIMHSE and team won the 2021 QS Reimagine Education Gold Award in Hybrid Learning for their project titled ‘Breaking Disciplinary Silos with Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (IPECP): An e-Mart approach’.

Dr Ng Ming-yen (黃明錟), Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Diagnostic Radiology, School of Clinical Medicine, thereafter as SClinMed, won the 2021 QS Reimagine Education Gold Award in Life Sciences for their project titled ‘Cardiac Imaging Massive Open Online Course’.

Recognised as the ‘Oscars’ in Education, the Reimagine Education Awards’ extended panel of over 200 international judges select winners with innovation, scalability, efficacy, and uniqueness as the criteria of achieving outstanding standards.

· Dr Paul Lee Chi-ho (李智豪), Clinical Assistant Professor, received the AASD Investigator Award 2021 from The Asian Association for the Study of Diabetes

· Dr David Lui Tak-wai (呂德威), Clinical Assistant Professor, was awarded ICDM Rising Star Award at The 11th International Congress of Diabetes and Metabolism and The 13th AASD Scientific Meeting

Dr Maggie Chan Mee-kie (陳美琪), Lecturer at the School of Nursing, was awarded Distinguished Educator in Gerontological Nursing from the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence (NHCGNE) in October 2021.
Dr Benjamin Ho Mu-hsing (何牧行), Research Assistant Professor, School of Nursing, won The Outstanding Young Scholar Award from the Lambda Beta-at-Large Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing in January 2022.
Dr Lim Lee-wei (林禮偉), Assistant Professor, School of Biomedical Sciences, received the Gold Award in International Innovation Awards 2022 at the 21st Malaysia Technology Expo in March 2022.
Dr Kendrick Co Shih (施愷迪), Clinical Associate Professor of Practice, Department of Ophthalmology, School of Clinical Medicine and Director of Student Affairs of the Faculty, won the 2021 Japanese Ophthalmological Society Young International Investigator Award from the Japanese Ophthalmological Society in 2021.
Dr Janet Wong Yuen-ha (黃婉霞), Associate Professor, School of Nursing, was elected the Sigma Global Regional Coordinator for Asia 2021-2023 by the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing in November 2021.
Samson Wong Ki-sum (王琦森), Assistant Lecturer, Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit, School of Clinical Medicine, received the Young Scholar Merit Award at Asia Pacific Medical Education Conference (APMEC) 2022 organised by Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya in January 2022.
Professor Cheung Chi-wai (張志偉), Chairperson and Clinical Professor at the Department of Anaesthesiology, School of Clinical Medicine, was invited by the School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University as Visiting Professor for a period of three years since November 2021.
Professor Huang Jiandong (黃建東), L & T Charitable Foundation Professor in Biomedical Sciences, Chair Professor of Synthetic Biology, School of Biomedical Sciences, was awarded the 2021 WuXi AppTec Life Science and Chemistry Awards in December 2021.
Professor Ivan Hung Fan-ngai (孔繁毅), Ru Chien and Helen Lieh Professor in Health Sciences Pedagogy, Chief of Infectious Diseases Division, Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine and Assistant Dean (Admissions) of the Faculty; and Dr Yiu Kai-hang (姚啟恒), Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine, were conferred as Chief Physician in Guangdong Province by the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality in May 2021.

The innovative project entitled ‘Application of Clinical Microbiology and Medical Imaging in the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 Infection in 2019’ developed by the HKU-SZH team received the First Prize in Shenzhen Science and Technology Progress Awards presented by the Shenzhen Science and Technology Awards Committee in 30 October 2021.

This project was jointly declared by the Department of Clinical Microbiology and Radiology of HKU-SZH. It was the first municipal science and technology progress award received by HKU-SZH since its establishment.

Professor Kathryn Cheah Song Eng (謝賞恩), Jimmy and Emily Tang Professor in Molecular Genetics, Chair Professor of Biochemistry, School of Biomedical Sciences, was elected Member of The Hong Kong Academy of Sciences by the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences in December 2021.

Dr David Lui Tak-wai (呂德威), Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine, was Awarded Distinguished Research Paper Award for Young Investigators 2021 from the Hong Kong College of Physicians in August 2021.
Dr Janus Wong Siu-him (黃兆謙), Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, School of Clinical Medicine, was awarded the Best Original Research by Trainee – Gold Award by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in December 2021.
Dr Jacqueline Yuen Kwan-yuk (阮君毓), Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine, was awarded Outstanding Free Paper Prize at the Hong Kong Geriatrics Society Annual Scientific Meeting in June 2021 and the Best Abstract Award at the 27th Medical Research Conference held by Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine in January 2022.
