Professor Jason Cheung Pui-yin (鍾培言) and Professor Prudence Cheung Wing-hang (張頴恒) (Orthopaedics and Traumatology, SClinMed)received the Best Paper Award at the Global Spine Congress; the Best Clinical Research Award and the Best Basic Science Award at the Asia Pacific Spine Society 7th Annual Meeting. Professor Jason Cheung Pui-yin (鍾培言) also received the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT) Oral Presentation Award at the 44th SICOT Orthopaedic World Congress Meeting

Professor Kenneth Cheung Man-chee (張文智) (HKU-SZH), in a joint project, received the Gold Medal at the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival 2024 and the Special Grand Prize from the Korea Invention Promotion Association

Eight disciplines of HKU-SZH were ranked among the top 100 in the ‘2023 Chinese Hospital Science and Technology Measurement (STEM) Ranking List’, released by the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences: hospital otolaryngology was ranked 12th; the infectious diseases discipline rose from 38th place in 2022 to 27th; and orthopaedic surgery rose from 100th place in 2022 to 49th
