• The project 'Transdisciplinary for Future Readiness' led by Professor Julian Tanner （唐柱霖）, Professor, School of Biomedical Sciences and Director of HKU Common Core and Dr Jack Tsao（曹智杰）, Associate Director and Senior Lecturer, HKU Common Core, won the Silver Award in the Developing Emerging Skills and Competencies category.

• The project 'Students as Co-Designers' led by Dr Khong Mei-li （孔美麗）, Lecturer / Digital Education Consultant of School of Clinical Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, won the Bronze Award in The Power of Partnerships category. 'Association of smoking, lung function and COPD in COVID-19 risk: a two-step Mendelian randomization study' by Professor Ryan Au Yeung Shiu-lun（歐陽兆倫）, Assistant Professor, School of Public Health, was listed as Top Downloaded Article by Wiley Online Library.

Professor Aya El Helali, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Oncology, Centre of Cancer Medicine, SClinMed, received the Best Free Paper Oral Presentation Award at the 18th Annual Meeting of Asian Society for Neuro-Oncology.

Professor James Ho Chung-man （何重文） Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, SClinMed, was elected as President of the 28th Congress of Asian Pacific Society of Respiraology (APSR) and as Executive Committee member of the APSR.

Professor Herbert Kwok Wang-chun （郭宏駿） Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, SClinMed, received the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR) Travel Award to the JRS Annual Meeting. 

Professor Allie Lee (李雅麗), Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Ophthalmology SClinMed, was conferred Fellow of the Advance Higher Education of the United Kingdom. 

Professor Philip Li Hei (李曦), Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, SClinMed, received the Best Presentation Award in Oral Presentation at the 72nd Annual Meeting of Japanese Society of Allergology (JAS) and the Best Abstract Award at the World Allergy Congress (WAC) 2024.

Professor Philip Li Hei (李曦), Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, SClinMed, and the Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology were recognised as an Asian Pacific Association of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology (APAAACI) Centre of Excellence.

Professor Stephanie Ma Kwai-yee (馬桂宜), Professor of School of Biomedical Sciences, was awarded the Sino-British Fellowship Trust Visitorship 2023-24 to undertake academic exchange in the United Kingdom and Mainland China.

Professor Loey Mak Lung-yi (麥龍兒), Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, SClinMed, was shortlisted for Global Women in Healthcare Awards – The Rising Star Award.

Dr Olivia Qian Xingxing (錢星星) and Dr Wu Chanchan (吳嬋嬋) Post-doctorate Fellows, School of Nursing, received the Best Poster Award and Best Oral Presentation Award, respectively, at the 27th East Asian Forum of Nursing Scholars (EAFONS) 2024.

Dr Qian was awarded for her Poster Presentation entitled 'Post-Hospital Falls in Older Patients: Investigating Associate Factors in Domains of Hospitalization and Subsequent Care'.

Dr Wu was awarded for her Oral Presentation entitled 'Sexual Health and Sexual Behaviours of Chinese Women of Various Sexual Identities: A Sequential Mixed Methods Study'.

Professor Kendrick Co Shih (施愷廸), Clinical Associate Professor of Practice, Department of Ophthalmology, SClinMed, was nominated as Council Member of the Asia-Pacific Ocular Imaging Society (APOIS).

Professor Kelvin Wang Man-ping (王文炳), Professor, School of Nursing, was awarded Fellow of the UK Faculty of Public Health.

Professor Janus Wong Siu-him（黃兆謙） Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, SClinMed, received the Best Clinical Paper Award at the Asian Pacific Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (APPOS) Meeting 2023.

The project entitled 'Changing "Old" Attitudes – Promoting Awareness of Ageism in Healthcare' led by Mr Samson Wong Ki-sum（王琦森）, Assistant Lecturer, Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit, SClinMed, was shortlisted for the Nurturing Values and Ethics Award at the 2023 QS Reimagine Education Awards.

Professor Doris Yu Sau-fung （余秀鳳）, Professor, School of Nursing, was named Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) in 2023.

Dr Colin Yung Shing-yat （容承逸）, Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, SClinMed, received the Silver Medal Award at the AO Trauma Research Olympiad.

Professor Liu Kui （劉奎）, Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, SClinMed, was ranked among the Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researchers 2023 for exceptional research performance in the field of Biology. 

The Research project entitled 'Regulation and mechanism of lipid metabolism gene diglyceride kinase Eta on liver cancer stemness' by Professor Stephanie Ma Kwai-yee （馬桂宜）, Professor, School of Biomedical Sciences received the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) General Program fund.

Professor Wang Weiping （汪衛平）, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy's research project entitled 'Photoresponsive mRNA Delivery System for Esophageal Carcinoma Treatment' received funding under National Natural Science Foundation for China and the Research Grants Council (NSFC/RGC) 2023/24 Exercise.

Research led by Professor Albert Chan Chi-yan （陳智仁）, Clinical Professor of Department of Surgery, SClinMed, and Professor Chiang Chi-leung （蔣子樑）, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Clinical Oncology, Centre of Cancer Medicine, SClinMed, which achieved in successfully curing terminal liver cancer through the combined 'Reduce and Remove' strategy was elected as one of the 'Top Ten Innovative News in Hong Kong in 2023' organised by the Beijing-Hong Kong Academic Exchange Centre.

Professor James Ho Chung-man （何重文）, Department of Medicine, SClinMed, was appointed member of the 'Committee on Trust Fund for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)' and Member of the 'Expert Group on Drug Registration'

Professor Herbert Kwok Wang-chun （郭宏駿）, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, SClinMed, was appointed Council member of Hong Kong Medical Association (HKMA), Vice-president of Hong Kong Public Doctor's Association (both 2023-24 Council) and Honorary Advisor for Paediatric Home Respiratory Support Society.

Professor Paul Lee Chi-ho （李智豪), Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, SClinMed, was awarded the Richard Yu Lectureship granted by Hong Kong College of Physicians and Royal College of Physicians Joint Scientific Meeting 2023. 

Professor David Lui Tak-wai （呂德威）and Professor Loey Mak Lung-yi （麥龍兒）Clinical Assistant Professors, Department of Medicine, SClinMed; and Professor Pauline Yeung Pui-ning （楊珮寧）, Clinical Assistant Professor, Critical Care Medicine Unit, SClinMed, received the Distinguished Research Paper Award for Young Investigators 2023.

Professor Alan Wong Siu-lun （黃兆麟）, Assistant Professor, School of Biomedical Sciences, received the BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize (STIP) 2023 in the field of Life and Health

The University of Hong Kong (HKU), represented by the School of Nursing, LKS Faculty of Medicine; University Health Service; and Human Resources Office, received the Hong Kong Smoke-free Leading Company Gold Award.

Professor Keiji Fukuda （福田敬二）, Honorary Professor, School of Public Health was conferred Honorary University Fellowship by the University of Hong Kong.

Professor Allie Lee （李雅麗）, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Ophthalmology, School of Clinical Medicine, was awarded the Teaching Development Grant to develop an innovative eye movement simulator.

Professor Philip Li Hei （李曦）, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, SClinMed, received the Sir Patrick Manson Gold Medal for Best MD Thesis. Professor Li also received the Best Abstract Award in Basic Science and Translational Research and Award for Excellence 2023, granted by the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine.

Professor Yen Hui-ling （嚴慧玲）, Associate Professor, School of Public Health, received the 'Rosie Young 90 Medal for Outstanding Young Woman Scholar'.
