The 7th Sharing Forum of the HKUMAA 130 Mentorship Programme was held via Zoom on 30 May 2026, bringing together 75 medical students, young alumni, and experienced doctors. The event focused on navigating the first year after MBBS and the longer-term journey of a doctor beyond graduation.
In Part 1, Dr Catherine Chong shared practical advice for interns transitioning into clinical work, encouraging students to make full use of mentorship and university support and to build a strong track record across clinical rotations. In Part 2, Dr Catherine Chong, Dr Chris Tsang and Dr Bernard Ma joined Co-chairs Dr Libby Lee and Dr Kevin Lau for a panel discussion on specialty choice, career planning and life as a junior doctor. The speakers highlighted the importance of teamwork, communication and resilience when facing challenges such as postgraduate examinations.
Participants engaged actively in the Q&A, and the forum ended with a group photo to round off the morning.
