The MBBS Enrichment Year (EY) Comprehensive Travellers' Health Service is a student-focused initiative jointly supported by the Faculty Enrichment Year team. It is designed to enhance the Enrichment Year experience for Year 3 students by providing comprehensive health support before their overseas exposure. The service offers a one‑stop platform for pre‑travel preparation, including health consultations, risk assessments, blood tests, vaccinations and tailored safety advice, to ensure that students are well prepared before departure. With full Faculty sponsorship, the service streamlines pre‑departure arrangements and strengthens students' understanding and awareness of travellers' health through comprehensive support.

Students in the EY 2025 cohort shared that the programme gave them peace of mind about their health protection before leaving. Here are some testimonials from participants:

Prior to my trip, the detailed consultation at the HKU Travellers' Clinic addressed all my health concerns, ensuring that I felt well prepared. I was also grateful for the free vaccinations and Malarone provided, which simplified the preparation process. Overall, the guidance and resources were very helpful in supporting my Enrichment Year.’

‘As a Year 2 MBBS student, I'm truly excited about the upcoming Enrichment Year. It's a wonderful opportunity to explore my interests and immerse myself in a new culture. I believe good health is essential for a meaningful experience, and the programme supports this by offering accessible and professional medical services, including vaccinations and a pre-travel consultation. It's reassuring to know that such reliable support is available, with fees covered by the Faculty.’
