This programme offers BBiomedSc and BSc (Bioinformatics) students enriching opportunities to gain practical research or industry experience over the summer. This year's programme was a remarkable success, engaging more than 80 passionate and motivated students.
The students had a unique opportunity to work in research laboratories across the Faculty, at overseas institutions such as the University of Cambridge, or in industry settings, including Queen Mary Hospital and the Beijing Genomics Institute. These experiences broadened their academic perspectives, deepened their industry knowledge and provided valuable exposure to global research standards.
The culmination of this internship programme was a poster presentation session, providing students with a platform to showcase their research findings and articulate their scientific insights. This event highlighted their individual achievements and fostered a sense of academic community and professional development. Outstanding participants were further recognised with awards, marking an inspiring close to a rewarding summer of learning and achievement.
