This first joint research symposium was held in Westlake University, Hangzhou, aiming to initiate scientific exchange with PIs between our School and Westlake University. Six PIs from SBMS (Professors Clive Chung Yik-sham, Rio Ryohichi Sugimura, Jeff Shih Chieh Ti, Wang Shoutang, Ni Tao and David Shih) Jen-hao presented their research findings at the symposium. Additionally, with presentations from PIs from Westlake University (Professors Yang Jian, Jia Jie-Min, Ji Hongbin, Xie Mingqi, Tao Liang, Liu Zixu, Huang Jing, Zeng Wenfeng), the two institutions had a fruitful discussion on research potential and accelerated future collaboration. They also shared their commitment to excellence in research and education, deepening the collaborative links regarding undergraduate summer internships and capstone projects, and medical student enrichment programmes.
