Professor Mathias François (School of Medical Sciences, The University of Sydney) was invited to be the External Advisor to review and give comments and advice to Principal Investigators (PIs) who are preparing RGC GRF/ECS 2026-27 grant applications. He delivered a Seminar on Grantsmanship to discuss the art and strategy of writing winning grants, followed by a series of one-to-one consultation meetings and group discussion meetings on 22 proposals from PIs in the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBMS) and other Departments and Schools, such as the Department of Surgery, the Department of Medicine, and the School of Chinese Medicine. He also delivered a Research Seminar discussing developmental biology and drug repurposing in vascular diseases, facilitating the exchange of research ideas and future collaboration with members of our School.
