School of Public Health
This course was organised by the HKU-Pasteur Research Pole (HKU-PRP) to explore the connections between human health, animal health and ecosystems in the context of globalised health threats, like influenza, SARS, MERS, Ebola and Zika. Participants from Hong Kong and overseas gained insights into strategies for containing viral epidemics while addressing the interdependence of health across species and environments.
Over the years, HKU-PRP has built a strong partnership with the Croucher Foundation, which has generously supported HKU-PRP's course series and programmes to promote scientific exchange with the Institut Pasteur. The institutions share the common goal of educating and inspiring postgraduate students and early career researchers from Hong Kong and the wider region with a global vision of health problems and unmet patients' needs.
