The aim of this workshop, held on the HKUMed campus, was to equip healthcare professionals for better care of patients with systemic sclerosis. It was organised by the Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology Division and led by Professors Iris Tang and Shirley Chan, Drs Carmen Ho and Teresa Li (Queen Mary Hospital), Dr Cheryl Ng (Queen Elizabeth Hospital) and Ms Crystal Kwok (Grantham Hospital). The workshop covered essential skills for the comprehensive management of systemic sclerosis. It combined theoretical knowledge with practical training on various screening and prediction models, such as nailfold capillaroscopy, lung ultrasonography, and skin assessment using the modified Rodnan skin score (mRSS).
