The MBBS Class of 1976 celebrated their reunion with a delightful dinner on 1 December 2024. Dr Tong Siu-man from the class also organised a visit to HKU-SZH with several other HKU alumni on 8 November 2024.
‘Some fellow HKU alumni and I toured The University of Hong Kong – Shenzhen Hospital, where we heard Prof Kenneth Cheung Man Chee review the hospital's achievements over the past 12 years and its vision of the future, followed by frank interactive exchanges.
We salute the hard work of our HKU colleagues, led by past and present hospital chief executives Prof Grace Tang, Prof Lo Chung Mau and Prof Kenneth Cheung. HKU-SZH has become one of the top 10 hospitals in China and is the youngest of them.
We were deeply moved by Prof Cheung's presentation and hope that it will be transcribed into paper and/or video format to tell its story from its initial struggles to success as a role model hospital for the medical community, the HKU community and Hong Kong society.
As HKU alumni, we are proud of these achievements and will continue to support the University and the Medical Faculty.’
