We would like to express our gratitude and best wishes to the following staff members who have left the Faculty (as of 30 September 2024):

1. Professor Cindy Lam Lo-kuen  (林露娟)

Clinical Professor, Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, School of Clinical Medicine

HKUMed extends its sincere gratitude to Professor Cindy Lam, the first Head of the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, who officially retired in June 2024, for her dedicated service and immense contributions to the Faculty over the past decades. 

Professor Lam joined the University's former General Practice Unit as a medical officer when it was founded in 1985. She made a tremendous contribution towards enhancing the academic capacity, research strengths and clinical services in family medicine through various leading positions. Her extensive research expertise and advocacy for primary care led to the establishment of the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care at HKUMed in 2010. In 2012, she was honoured with the Danny D B Ho Endowed Professorship in Family Medicine. Recently, Professor Lam has selflessly offered her invaluable advice on the government's Primary Healthcare Blueprint, which provides a roadmap for improving healthcare services in the long run and addressing the challenges posed by the ageing population.

8. Professor Ip Kam-yuen (葉鑫源)
