Research-related Awards 2021-2022 (1) Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Senior Achievement Award 2021 [Professor Christopher Leung] 2021 年亞太眼科學會高級成就獎 [Professor Christopher Leung] (2) The Japanese Ophthalmological Society International Young Investigator Award 2021 [Dr Kendrick Shih] 2021 日本眼科學會國際青年研究員獎 [Dr Kendrick Shih] Dr Shih received the award based on his 2020 publication “Lycium barbarum Polysaccharide Suppresses Expression of Fibrotic Proteins in Primary Human Corneal Fibroblasts” in Journal of Clinical Medicine, for which he served as corresponding author and principal investigator. The study was the first proof of concept that wolfberry extract; lycium barbarum polysaccharide, may serve as a potent anti-fibrotic agent a�er cornea epithelial-stromal injury. This publication has set the path for the group’s continued work in the field, with further publications in Experimental Eye Research in 2021 and 2022.
