MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN, FACULTY OF MEDICINE

FIGHT AGAINST ATYPICAL PNEUMONIA CAMPAIGN

Dear Organizing Committee members, Station Managers and Student Ambassadors,

I write to thank you earnestly for your enthusiastic participation in the "Fight Against Atypical Pneumonia" Campaign co-organized by the Faculty of Medicine, HKU and MTR Corporation on April 10-12, 2003. I am mostly impressed by the unity and commitment of our Medical and Nursing students when I noticed that there were over 300 students enrolled for the Campaign within a few days. Though we could not cater for all student helpers in the Campaign due to space limitation, I am sure your spirit and dedication has already influenced everyone around you.

I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Organizing Committee and all student ambassadors for their hard work in staging the whole Campaign.

Hong Kong is going through the toughest time in its history of medicine. It is a time for leadership; it is a time for heroes. Because I see the professionalism in our future medical professionals, I am confident that HK will go over this difficult time with united spirit.

In this connection, I would like to extend my invitation to all student ambassadors to a Lunch Party next week. Details as follows:

Date: April 25, 2003 (Friday)
Time: 1245
Venue: Exhibition Area, G/F, Laboratory Block, Faculty of Medicine Building,
21 Sassoon Road, Hong Kong

A Certificate of Appreciation will be presented to the Organizing Committee members, Stations Managers and all student ambassadors. Lunch would be provided. I look forward to meeting you all at the Party!

Yours
Professor SK Lam
Dean, Faculty of Medicine
