Poster Presentation Guidelines
- Design your e-poster with an attractive outlook to (a) provide a brief overview of your work focusing on the objectives, hypothesis, academic progress and scientific merits of your project; and (b) initiate discussion and questions. Only cover the key points of your work.
- Your e-poster must adhere to the following specifications
- File format: pptx only
- Size in pixel: 1080 (w) x 1536 (h) – portrait orientation
- Size in cm: 38.1 (w) x 54.2 (h) – portrait orientation
- Font size: ≥16
- Include text, diagram, figures and images only, do not add videos to your e-poster.
- A PowerPoint template with the correct dimensions and recommended font sizes can be downloaded here.
- Your e-poster should include a presentation audio track of no longer than 3 minutes on the most important scientific merits of your research projects.
- Instruction on how to record a short audio file inside your e-poster can be referenced here.
- Make your e-poster as self-explanatory as possible.
- A few tips to keep your audio track interesting:
- Have a bold opening – catch people’s attention and make them want to listen on.
- Practice – your research can only be as good as it sounds, ask a friend to give feedback.
- Share deeper insight – don’t just read the poster, what do you want to add to make people want to ask you a question?
- Sound quality is key – good microphone, no background noise.
- Keep it under 3 mins – adjudicators will not assess content after the 3-minute mark.
- Enjoy sharing your work!
