Call for Abstracts

Abstract Submission Procedures

All participants are invited to submit abstracts in either poster or oral format for presentation at the Symposium.  Please refer to the following guidelines for submission:

• Submitted materials should not be previously published.
• All abstracts must be written in English, Times New Roman in point 12 and within 800 words.
• The objectives, methods, results and conclusions should be described. One figure or table may be included, though at the expense of the total number of words.
• Confirmation of acceptance of abstracts will be communicated to the Presenting Author by 22 February 2016. The exact schedule of shortlisted presentations at the Symposium will be communicated to the Presenting Author by 29 February 2016.
• All accepted abstracts will be integrated and printed in the Programme Book.
• Free registration will be offered to all presenting authors of oral or poster presentations.
• Presenting Authors are eligible to participate in the Young Investigator Awards Competition for oral / poster presentations if their positions are below the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent. The Young investigator Awards and Outstanding Abstract Prizes will be awarded for the best oral / poster presentations.

• If you are unable to upload your abstract file or wish to make any changes or amendments, please contact the Symposium Secretariat via email at hbha@hku.hk. Please do NOT re-submit your abstract.

Note:  The deadline of submission is 15 February 2016.  Abstract sent in by fax will NOT be accepted.

Young Investigator Awards

Prizes each for the oral and poster presentations will be awarded for the outstanding presentations by young researchers.  Presenting authors, who are below the position of Assistant Professor or equivalent, should indicate if they wish to have their abstracts considered for the Award.  Shortlisted finalists will be requested to make presentations for the adjudicators to review at the Symposium.
