On 8 November, The University of Hong Kong–Shenzhen Hospital successfully held a seminar titled ‘Multidisciplinary diagnosis and care of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)’ in Shenzhen. The event brought together numerous domestic experts in the field of SMA. Professor Zhang Shuyang, from Peking University, gave the opening address. Through special lectures and case analyses, participants explored the etiology, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, respiratory management, nutrition, rehabilitation and daily care of SMA patients to learn about the latest diagnostic and therapeutic advancements and nursing essentials related to this condition. The seminar attracted over 50 participants, who engaged in discussions on SMA-related issues.
