The advanced workshop on 3D printing software techniques for clinicians, held on 28 November 2024, provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of 3D planning and printing in orthopaedic surgery. The workshop began with an introduction by Professor Raymond Yau, followed by an overview of 3D planning and printing in orthopaedic surgery by Professor Christian Fang. Mr Jeffrey Wong introduced the software used in the workshop. The session on image acquisition and fusion was led by Professor Raymond Yau, followed by two sessions on segmentation by Dr Colin Yung and Dr Isaac Ko. Dr Ko continued with digital 3D model creation, and Professor Christian Fang covered osteotomy planning and surface jig creation. The workshop concluded with a session on model repair by Mr Jeffrey Wong. Participants had the opportunity to design their own 3D printing products upon completion of the workshop.

The 6th HKU International Musculoskeletal Tumour Course, held on 29-30 November 2024, covered a wide range of topics related to musculoskeletal tumours. The first day included sessions on basic assessments, such as principles of bone and soft tissue imaging, no-touch lesions, biopsy principles, and bone and soft tissue pathology. Additionally, the day featured case discussions and sessions on malignant bone tumours, including osteosarcoma and chondrosarcoma, as well as new advances in bone tumour resection. 

The second day began with sessions on management principles, including systemic treatment, radiotherapy and interventional radiology. The programme also included discussions on malignant bone tumours, focusing on prosthetic and biological bone reconstruction, and surgery for pelvic tumours. Further sessions covered soft tissue sarcoma and other tumours, such as giant cell tumours and bone metastasis. Overall, the programme provided a comprehensive overview of musculoskeletal tumour management through a combination of lectures, case discussions and Q&A sessions.
