The Clinical Research Governance World Conference 2025 was successfully held on 16 January 2025. Under this year's theme, ‘Realizing Good Governance in the Changing Paradigm for Global Clinical Research’, the Conference aimed to explore the latest developments in clinical research governance, focusing on the challenges and opportunities arising from recent changes. We were honoured to have Professor Lo Chung-mau, Secretary for Health of the HKSAR, and Professor Max Shen, Vice-President (Research) of the University of Hong Kong, deliver the opening remarks.
It was also our privilege to have speakers from the World Health Organization and other international institutions share insights on the recently released global guidelines. More than 500 participants, both online and in person, received up-to-date information on ethical standards for clinical trials and learned about best practices for public and patient involvement in enhancing the quality of clinical research projects going forward.
