The Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance-Hong Kong Advanced Workshop was held from 2 to 5 April 2025. This was the first advanced workshop of its kind launched by the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR).
The workshop was designed for cardiologists and radiologists aspiring to become independent practitioners in cardiac MRI. The participants went through over 100 cardiac MRI cases, experienced live scanning and received mentorship from expert faculty. Owing to overwhelming demand, the workshop was sold out months in advance, leading to an increase in enrolment by over 60% to accommodate additional learners.
Professor Ng Ming-yen, a member of the SCMR Board of Trustees and Immediate Past Chair of the SCMR Education Committee, was the Chair of the workshop. Professor Vanessa Ferreira, a Visiting Research Professor in the HJKU Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Professor at The University of Oxford and Vice President of the SCMR, was the Co-Chair of the workshop.
