On 3 September 2024, a delegation from the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration visited the LKS Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong.
During their visit, they engaged in a productive meeting with professors from the School of Public Health. The discussions focused on insights related to disease transmission, control and prevention. Both parties expressed a strong desire to collaborate on future projects, emphasising the importance of integrating the University's research findings into national disease-prevention policies. This collaboration aims to address various public health challenges and enhance the overall health and well-being of the community. The visit concluded with a tour of our laboratory facilities, guided by Professor Leo Poon, Daniel C K Yu Professor in Virology, Chair Professor of Public Health Virology, Head of the Division of Public Health Laboratory Sciences of the School of Public Health, and Associate Dean (Human Capital) of the LKS Faculty of Medicine.
