The State Key Laboratory of Liver Research (SKLLR) Symposium has been a signature annual event of the SKLLR since its inception in 2011. This year marked its 14th edition, held on 26 October 2024 at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel. The SKLLR Symposium was co-organised with the Theme-based Research Scheme (TRS) on Liver Cancer (T12-716/22R). More than 170 delegates attended in person, comprising scientists, clinicians, medical personnel, academics and research postgraduate students.
The key note speakers were Professor Gao Qiang (Professor from the Department of Liver Surgery and Transplantation at the Liver Cancer Institute, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University) and Professor Mohammed Eslam (Professor of Hepatology and Deputy Director, Storr Liver Centre, University of Sydney, Australia). They shared their cutting-edge research and new clinical developments in liver diseases. In addition, SKLLR Principal Investigators and Associate Members presented their most recent significant research findings, covering both clinical and basic science topics. The audience found Symposium 2024 to be a stimulating and fulfilling event.
