The Mainland-HK SP Chow Orthopaedic Summit 2025, held from 17 to 19 January 2025 at the University of Hong Kong, successfully re-established collaboration with major university hospitals in Mainland China, benefiting particularly young orthopaedic surgeons. The summit featured a contest format with oral presentations and quizzes on clinical cases, conducted in English. Participating institutions included Peking Union Medical College Hospital in Beijing, Tianjin Hospital in Tianjin University, and Zhongshan Hospital in Fudan University in Shanghai.
One of the main achievements of the event was the high level of engagement and competition among the young doctors, who showcased their clinical and research skills through oral presentations and case discussions. The event also fostered a spirit of camaraderie and knowledge exchange among the participants, with each institution sending a delegation comprising one senior judge and two to three young doctors as contestants.
The Summit has strengthened the ties between the orthopaedic communities in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
