Research Facilities > Human Tumour Tissue Bank
A total number of 1,653 cases of cancer tissue has been collected in our Human Tumour Tissue Bank including carcinoma arising from various organ sites: liver (major collection), breast colon and rectum, stomach, esophagus, head and neck, thyroid, brain and neural tissues, kidney and lung.
Tumour and adjacent non-malignant tissue as well as blood sample are collected and banked with accurate and detail clinical data for long-term investigation. The establishment of tumour tissue bank is crucial for evaluation of diagnostic and prognostic markers for human cancers, particularly the locally prevalent ones and facilitate research into the pathogenesis and progression of these cancers.
