41 40 MBBS Enrichment Year 2019/20 Cheng Cheuk Kin Kevin Full Year < IC - Intercalated degree at University of Bristol, UK > Cheng Cheuk Kin Kevin Minor in Food and Nutritional Science (HKU) I have taken 6 minor courses of food and nutritional science, including two fundamental courses and four advanced courses. The fundamental courses briefly introduce different biochemical reactions and the respective principles. And the advanced courses will talk more details about the food and nutrition of human, such as food microbiology and relationship between diet and disease. During the advanced courses, finishing laboratory reports and critique of research papers are required. This can train my ability to thinking critically and give my personal opinion on others’ works. Free electives and common core I have also taken some other courses to enrich my knowledge of other aspects. Two of them taken are about philosophical mind and political philosophy. I have known briefly about how the famous philosophers in the past set up their own theories and try to compare the similarities and differences between their mind and thinking. I also learnt how to apply the way of thinking on the daily life and use some real-life examples to help us to understand the philosophical way of thinking better. I have utilized the time of semester break to visit Hulunbuir in December. During the trip, a lot of traditional Mongolian Culture were introduced. The natural beauty of grassland in Winter is really inspiring and you will definitely feel comfortable and free there although it is very cold. The temperature there reaches -40 degree Celsius. The traditional food of Mongolian were delicious and I was glad that I had the chance to join this trip.
